Just an ordinary day

We played...
                                            We went shopping...
I'm just an ordinary Mom, grocery shopping and going to the parkwith my little girl. I just happen to be a little wacky taking pictures of it all!

Physical Therapy

Laura was scheduled for 4 days of physical therapy but she did so well we only stayed for three. Everyone was amazed how quickly Laura learned to walk.

Prosthetic leg always goes down first and "big leg" up first.

A big HUGE Thank you to Ryan, Courtney and Kyle- our wonderful physical therapists!

Head, Shoulders, Knees and Toes....

Laura started singing the "head shoulders knees and toes" song and I did what any good Mama would do....I took pictures of her!

Playing around

This would be our silly boy, Alex.

No, Alex. Not for you!

These Shriners were so cute sitting there I just had to ask for a picture. This gentleman was particulary taken with Laura. I think they both enjoyed a few minutes with us. This gentleman even gave Laura a pin with a genuine fake diamond in it! (his words not mine) LOL!

                                                                    Sitting around!

Making jewelry between physical therapy appointments.

This little office area is part of the physical therapy "playground". Laura enjoyed playing "office" here.

Shriners Hospital # 8 - WALKING!

‎9 months ago TODAY we met Laura. 5 months ago TODAY we arrived home with her. TODAY she got her "big leg" at 11:00 AM!
TONIGHT she walked unassisted for the very first time! Laura is abosulutely AMAZING!!

Here Laura is waiting for her appointment and taking a peek at where her leg was made.

Mrs. Jenn brought out Laura's leg!

Laura, what do you think? Shall we try it on?

Yeah! Let's go for a spin!

Looking good!

Mrs. Jenn made some adjustments and then she put on the bottom portion.

Thank you Mrs. Diane for making our daughters leg! Thank you from the bottom of our hearts!!
"I like my leg" says Laura.

After some leg adjustments Laura was able to walk while using her walker. We went and had lunch and then went back for physical thereapy in the afternoon.

And the BEST part for last....

A video of Alex walking with Laura unassisted for the very first time!

Laura, you are AMAZING!
